Quest Innovation Fair

STEAM Fair

Date:

Location:

Pleasanton, California

Introduction & Commitment

Empowering the next generation of problem-solvers starts right here in the Heart of the Bay. Our team is dedicated to bringing the FIRST Tech Challenge to the Alameda community, ensuring that the spirit of innovation is accessible to every student, from the East End to the Point.

We believe that robotics is more than just gears and code—it’s a universal language. Our commitment at the Quest Innovation Fair is to demystify technology, proving that whether you’re a lifelong tinkerer or picking up a controller for the first time, there is a place for you in the robotics revolution.

Key Outreach Interventions

Live Robot Demonstrations

Experience the engineering process in motion. We’re showcasing our robot’s ability to navigate complex environments and execute precision tasks, bringing the abstract concepts of physics and geometry into the real world.

The "Driver’s Seat" Experience

We’re handing over the reigns! Fairgoers can step up to the driver’s station to pilot the robot through a series of mini-challenges. By putting the tech in their hands, we turn spectators into active participants.

Island Tech Deep-Dives

Curious about what’s "under the hood"? Our members are leading technical walkthroughs covering:

  • Mechanical Design: How we use 3D printing and CNC milling to build custom components.

  • The Brains: An inside look at our Java-based code and how we use computer vision to "see" the field.

  • Sensor Integration: Explaining how encoders and gyroscopes allow for autonomous precision.

Navigating the FIRST Ecosystem

We are acting as a local compass for STEM. We’re providing Alameda families with roadmap resources on how to join existing teams or kickstart new FIRST programs in local schools and neighborhoods.

Interactive CAD & Design Hub

At our booth, we’re breaking down the "Digital-to-Physical" pipeline. Visitors can explore our 3D models (CAD) and see how a digital sketch evolves into the metal-and-wire machine standing before them.
